Here's what patients are saying about E. W. Natural Healing Acupuncture P.C.

"I am writing this letter to thank you for all you have done in assisting me in treating my condition. In November 1999 at the age of 25, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis following and episode of complete numbness and weakness in the entire left side of my body. In addition to this, I developed Optic Neuritis, which caused a loss of vision in my right eye around the same time. During my visits to the Neurologist who diagnosed my condition, he wanted to put me on beta-interferon, a medication which would consist of weekly injections, "hopefully slowing the progress of the disease" as he put it. He explained to me that this medication would not help my condition right now and that I may never improve at all. He told me that the injections were designed to slow the progress of the disease, not to prevent any further episodes. This was unacceptable to me, and I decided not to take any medication, but to seek out other therapies such as nutritional and chiropractic, as well as massage therapy. At this point, I have not yet tried acupuncture. My current symptoms gradually improved over a couple of months and my vision continued to improve over one year which I believe was due to these therapies.

In April 2000, another exacerbation of the MS occurred, this time much more severe, affecting the right side of my body and my left eye. Two months later, and not improving at all, I came across your name and began to receive acupuncture twice a week as well as herbal treatments. I was initially told by you that I would start feeling better in about 2-3 months, but I began a rapid recovery by the third treatment, which was one and half weeks later. I was not even able to drive myself to the first visit, but by the third visit, I was driving to your office on my own and was able to perform most daily tasks like before. I am still amazed at how fast I began to feel better. Since I have started the acupuncture treatments in June 2000, my balance, coordination, and feeling on both sides of my body have been completely restored, my vision has returned about 95%, and I am completely independent and able to carry on with my life like before. I am now completing a degree in massage therapy and I am looking forward to working in a medical setting, bringing wellness to others who are suffering from various illnesses and conditions.

It has now been almost two years since my last episode of MS, and I am confident that I will be able to keep it under control. I attribute this mainly to you, Dr. Lee, and the acupuncture treatments, which I am still receiving once a week, as well as a complete lifestyle change including dietary changes, exercise, and stress reduction. I have left a high-stress career and made other significant changes regarding the stressors in my life. I am happy to say that I am almost 100% recovered from the symptoms of MS as well as 100% free of any conventional medications for MS, and even though there is no "cure" for this condition, I believe I have found the next best thing. Thank you again for your patience, compassion, and helping me through a very difficult time."

"I am writing you this letter to express my deepest gratitude for all you have done for me. It is almost one year after my diagnosis with multiple sclerosis and I feel great! Your sincere effort and kind words have kept my chin up, and I hope this letter inspires many to feel the wonderful benefits of acupuncture.

In May 1998, I was diagnosed with MS. I was hospitalized because I lost all coordination, strength, and movement of my left arm and leg. In July 1998, I started acupuncture treatment twice a week. I started taking herbs and vitamins to repair my immune system. Within months, my strength, power, and coordination slowly began to improve. My nervous system will never be the same, but because of this treatment, I can live with MS happily. Overall, I feel that Dr. Lee has helped me tremendously with my daily symptoms. I feel at least 75% better than that first day in Dr. Lee's office. Today my muscle strength, balance, and coordination amaze me. I am energized and anxiously await my next treatment.

I look back and I do not believe that I once used a cane and could not balance two objects in y hands at the same time. I could not drive or climb steps. Today, I can try to do anything I wish!

I recommend this special treatment for all who suffer or know someone suffering from mutable sclerosis. It will amaze you how your quality of life will improve.

Once again, thank you for all you have done for me."

"I cannot emphasize enough how acupuncture treatments have alleviated the symptoms of my present medical condition, Multiple Sclerosis.

I was recently in an automobile accident. under normal circumstances, the stress of this nature could very well trigger an MS episode. I was very fortunate that I did not experience an MS attack even though I was under duress.

Since being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1998, the lesions on my brain have significantly reduced in size. I no longer experience the same pain and discomfort as when I initially came to you in 1998. This disease left debilitating and painful symptoms on my left side. With your expertise, my health has improved, and it is very apparent. It is of my opinion that these improvements are largely due to your vast knowledge, expertise, and acupuncture treatments.

To date, I have not had an (MS) exacerbation since receiving your treatments. I still highly recommended this therapy to others with MS. Many are reluctant towards this treatment because they are afraid of needles. I have never experienced pain or discomfort from acupuncture treatments. The results are positive and I have benefited greatly from them."

"Thank you for your remarkably successful treatment of my ulcerative colitis. The combination of acupuncture and herbs healed whereas, traditional medicine had not.

Although I have been symptom-free for over a year, I recently underwent a colonoscopy examination and the proof was in the results "colitis free."

My heartfelt thanks for your help and your uplifting positive attitude."

"After over a year of treatments, I am grateful to be able to write this letter and hand it to you with gratitude for your dedicated practice. My overall health improved from a state of debilitation, weight loss, and anemia due to a severe case of ulcerative colitis, to a strong and normal function of all aspects of my body.

I came to you after trying so many other alternative healing modalities for a condition that gastroenterologists (I have seen four different doctors) classified as a lifetime chronic condition, for which they prescribed steroids and lifelong daily maintenance medication.

In the two years of the illness, before I came to you, I saw chiropractors, nutritionists, an Ayurveda practitioner, 2 acupuncturists, and a Chinese Herbologist. I spent many hours of research educating myself of all the accumulated knowledge about ulcerative colitis and other illnesses of the digestive system. I saw psychotherapists and did yoga, and healing visualization. Having already engaged in a healthy lifestyle for many years prior, I did not know what else I could do to change my condition.

I did not believe that the Western Doctors were right in saying that this condition is chronic and can only be controlled with medication. The medications are strong and have many side effects. Being only in my mid-thirties, with two young children, I did not give up looking for true healing. I knew that to heal fully is not only to control or alter the symptoms in one area of the body. The Eastern Philosophy of medicine seemed to make much more sense: the body shows symptoms in one area of the body only to alert us that the whole body is under stress. Chinese medicine helps alleviate symptoms, only to change a whole pattern in the body. It treats the whole person, not only the part of the body that suffers.

The difference between your treatment, Dr. Lee, and the many other alternative medicine practitioners I have seen is that you have confidence in your work, having seen so many people helped by it. You kept supporting me that because my condition was severe it would take a long time to heal. You explained to me how my body needed to gain strength and energy to heal before it can repair the ulcer in my intestines. It took over one year before I finally began to see significant change. But all along the way, I felt just a little bit better to not give up and trust in your confidence that it was just a matter of time. You prescribed herbs and changed the formula along the way. I saw you initially twice a week, then once a week. I have been completely free of symptoms for almost 3 months now. I have reduced both herbs and acupuncture to a point that I do not rely anymore on the treatments. I am truly healed. I want to tell other patients; no matter what condition they suffer, that if the cause for your illness is deep (and it always involves the physical, mental, and emotionally stated of the self) it might take trust and persistence to change your condition. Healing always involves the participation of the patient. From trust in the practitioner to persistence and willingness to change other aspects of one's life, be it diet, stress, exercise, etc. Most of all, not all healing modalities suit all people, and not all practitioner are equal. I can attest that Dr. Lee has a special gift in acupuncture and vast knowledge of herbology. He gets his herbs directly from China and mixes his formulas based on ancient knowledge. His advantage is that he knows Chinese medicine in a way only a Chinese practitioner can, but he is also educated in Western medicine and knows the benefits and limits of both modalities."

"I am writing this letter to thank you for your help with my neck and back problems. I started treatment for my problems in March of this year right before I went on vacation. I was totally amazed that after only my second visit, I started feeling better and was able to enjoy my vacation almost pain-free. I had been so used to feeling pain in my right shoulder blade and across the top of my right shoulder that I was shocked when I hardly felt any pain at all!

As you know when I brought you my MRI results, I had been diagnosed with degenerative disc disease in my cervical spine, coupled with spinal stenosis. I also had some degeneration and arthritis in my lower back on the right side as well. I had stopped taking Naprosyn at the time but I was still taking another anti-inflammatory drug right before I started treatments with you. Once I started your treatments twice a week, I was even able to stop taking those.

After I got back from my vacation, I continued my treatments with you on a twice a week basis until I was feeling so much better that I was able to just come in once a week. It has now been almost two weeks since my last appointment and I am still feeling incredibly well. It is like a miracle to me because I thought I was doomed to be in pain or on medication for the rest of my life. Now, thanks to you, I am able to live relatively pain-free!

Thank you, Dr. Lee, for your help with my problems. You can be assured that I will let others know how much you have helped me and that they too can feel better again with your help."

"I am writing this letter to you as I promised on the day of my first visit. I remember that we made a deal. The deal was that if you could make my situation better that I would write a letter about my experience for you to display to your clients. Well, it's been three months and I am writing you this letter as I promised. I want to thank you for helping me and for being more than just a doctor to me. I always look forward to my visits.

When I first came to visit Dr. Lee, I was searching for a treatment for an unexplainable and uncontrollable rash that I had been battling for years without relief. This rash covered my neck, back, and chest. It would mysteriously appear for three to four days and then disappear completely. I had been to a few dermatologists and they could only prescribe anti-inflammatory mediations. They could not explain what was causing the rashes, even after biopsies. The medications could only shorten the stay of the rashes but didn't stop them from coming. I also went to see an allergist who also couldn't figure out what was causing the rashes. He put me on three different medications and a strict diet. This lessened the rashes to once a week or so and kept them pretty mild. However, the medication was causing me to gain weight and I didn't want to be on medication for the rest of my life. Not to mention I like to eat and the diet was killing me. During the past year, I have been doing research for my Master Degree and the topic for my project was alternative medicine. I chose acupuncture as the focus and did a lot of research. I didn't know very much about it and it always seemed interesting to me. Through my research, I learned a lot about the types of ailments acupuncture can help and was amazed at its diversity. I thought to myself, “maybe this can help me?” Then one day I came across Dr. Lee's name and decided to use a case study from his practice as part of my project. As it turns out, I became the case study. I made an appointment to see Dr. Lee in early May 2000.

I came to Dr. Lee on that first visit very discouraged. Acupuncture was my last shred of hope for a treatment. I really wasn't sure if it was going to work but I figured what was the worst thing that could happen, right? I had tried everything else and this was the last stop so why give up now. Dr. Lee, on the other hand, was so optimistic and so sure that he could cure me that after my first visit I began to believe that this might actually work for me. We scheduled appointments for twice a week and I started taking Dr. Lee's special herbs.

By the beginning of June, I had seen little to no change. I was beginning to worry, but Dr. Lee assured me that my problem was stubborn and would take some time to battle. Then one day in mid-June my rashes had almost completely disappeared. I stopped all the medication I was taking and still no rashes. It is now August 18th and still no rash. I am still finishing my treatments but I have been medication-free and rash free for over two months. I still can't believe it!

So once again I am thanking Dr. Lee for helping me. I recommend acupuncture to everyone I meet and tell him or her my story. I only hope that by hearing my story, others will give acupuncture a try before they give up."

"I came to Dr. Lee on July 24, 1999, with a bulging disc in my lumbar region consisting of L4, L5, and S1. Strain in my neck region C2 and C3. Impinging nerves in the left buttock and right anterior thigh. I incurred these injuries from an automobile accident on December 28, 1998, and unable to work. They treated me with Physiatry, Orthopedic, Chiropractic, and Physical Therapy care, also seen a Neurologist. For seven months, there was some relief, but no cure except surgery or epidural steroid injections that not an option I would choose. I was introduced to Dr. Lee through a friend and began treatment on July 24, 1999. He promised to have me better in 12 weeks. He did it in 13 weeks, using acupuncture and herbs three times per week. I am proud to state, I am much better and can almost return to normal life without pain. A little discomfort, when doing strenuous activities directly related to my lumbar region or left buttock. For this, I am receiving acupuncture twice per week and still drinking my herbs. I will be returning to work soon.
I am a man of faith, but a skeptical one. While I was raised in a home and a community of deep belief and passionate religious observance, I also was educated in an environment of intense Talmudic logic. In the Orthodox Jewish world in which I grew up, science was not negated, it was venerated. Whether in the study of sacred text and religious law or the pursuit of science, logic was supreme.

When I left Orthodoxy, I entered a more open-minded world. I delved into philosophy and various mystical traditions, eventually finding myself in the study of Jewish Mysticism - Kabbalah. But even with this new-found openness, I still took with me the strong intellectual skepticism of my background.

Six and a half years ago, I suddenly had hives, over my torso and my arms. I was miserable! They disrupted my life, especially my sleep. I saw scores of physicians: internists, allergist, and dermatologists. No one could find a cause, no one could find a cure or even real relief. Finally, I agreed to go on Prednisone, a steroid. Soon, I had no hives. But after seven weeks, when the regimen ended, the hives returned, with a vengeance! And I had gained ten pounds and doubled my cholesterol level!

My internist recommended that I go to Dr. Henry Z.H. Lee for acupuncture. I was skeptical, to say the least. "This is not science!" I argued. "What research is there to support it? How can I take it seriously?" But at my wife's insistence, I agreed.

On meeting Dr. Lee, I was still resistant but intrigued. By the third session, the hives had lessened. After six sessions, they were gone! Between the acupuncture and the herbs, what many doctors could not do, without serious side effects, Dr. Lee did.

How does it work? The skeptic in me is challenged, but the cure made me as much of a true believer as I am capable of becoming."

"February 8, 1997, was my first visit to you. I had pain in the thumb area of my left hand. I had been seen by an orthopedist several times. I was told that I had carpal tunnel syndrome. The orthopedist prescribed a thumb sling, and anti-inflammatory drug and not to use my hand. I was told that I was being treated conservatively. If this treatment did not work, I would need surgery. With the use of the sling, I was experiencing numbness and stiffness. You told me that I would need about 12 treatments. Well, I believe I had 9 or 10 acupuncture sessions and my hand was great. I have been pain-free and have full use of my hand."

"As your records will reveal, for approximately six months beginning in March 1998, I was in excruciating pain as a result of a back ailment. When all else failed, at your suggestion, I resorted to acupuncture. In August 1998, making a selection from the telephone book, I called: Dr. Henry Lee - East-West Natural Healing Arts Center 21 W. Nicholai St., Hicksville, New York 516-822-6722

After a brief conversation with me, Dr. Lee promised that I would be relieved of pain after 8 weekly treatments. Contrary to his prediction, I have been pain-free since October 1998 after only 6 treatments. I waited a year before writing this letter because I wanted to be certain that I was not dependent upon treatment or psychosomatic suggestion.

I am happy to advise that Dr. Lee has been instrumental in helping me to become a useful person since receiving his treatment. I found him to be sensitive, highly knowledgeable, and willing to accept any challenge when it comes to pain. I highly recommend referral of patients suffering from ailments similar to mine."
