Learn More About E.W. Natural Healing Acupuncture P.C.

Have an acupuncture-related question! We have the answer! Check out our FAQs below to learn more about our company and services.

  • Does acupuncture hurt?

Generally no. You may feel a slight pinch. There may be soreness afterward which we consider a good thing. If you have any concerns, feel free to ask your acupuncturist doctor.

  • Is acupuncture safe?

Yes, our acupuncturist doctor ensures that procedures are clean and sterilized. We use only well-trained and licensed practitioners. Acupuncture is becoming more popular as users increased from 4.2% to 6.3% of the population, representing 8.19 million and 14.01 million in 2002 and 2007, respectively (according to the NHIS).

  • Are there any side effects to acupuncture?

In some cases, there may be slight bruising and light bleeding which is normal for healing. If you come on an empty stomach you might feel slight nausea or dizziness. Our acupuncturist doctor recommends having a meal before your visit.

  • How does acupuncture work?

We have a "Meridian" system. There are 14 channels in our body. Our acupuncturist doctor specializes in chi, which affects the proper functioning of the body. Acupuncture clears those channels to help with your Chi and overall well-being and health.

  • Where do the needles go when I get acupuncture?

They can go almost anywhere on the body. There are over 2000 pressure points on the body. Where they go depends upon your ailments and needs. Ask our acupuncturist doctor what is best for you.

  • What should I expect from my first treatment of acupuncture?

The acupuncturist doctor will discuss your medical history. When we set up the appointment, we will discuss your goals and the treatments we recommend, including expected results and possible side effects, and healthy reactions. We also discuss follow-up treatments.

  • Does insurance cover acupuncture treatment?

This will depend on the insurance. Some actually do cover it in some cases. Discussing it with the acupuncturist doctor will give you a bit more information on the matter.

  • What kinds of conditions can you treat with acupuncture?

You would be surprised. We do not just use acupuncture, we use herbal treatments and meditation as well. They are designed to work together to increase the effectiveness of each treatment and in some cases lessen the need for follow-up treatments for a wide variety of ailments both physical, mental, and emotional from infertility, allergies, and even some diseases (especially pain management). The acupuncturist doctor can tailor a treatment plan to fit your needs.
